Four-year-old Gage had to learn that lesson the hard way when his father, US Marine Corps sergeant Joshua Newville, married Senior Airman Emily Leehan in Ripley, New York, a few years ago. He found it difficult to control his emotions.
It was being held together fairly well by little Gage. That is, until the vows his father's wife had written especially for him were recited. Put the breakdown in line.
Being by his father's side while he exchanged vows with his future wife, Senior Airman Emily Leehan, was a proud moment for Gage Newville.
But little did the four-year-old realize that Leehan had composed a special set of vows just for him. After she gave them, Gage found it all too much to handle in front of an already emotional crowd.
As soon as Leehan started her recital, Gage broke down in tears. According to the Daily Mail, Leehan said, “I want you to be a good person, try your hardest, and be safe.”
But before she could say anything more, Gage threw his arms around her and became overcome with emotion.
The audience let out a collective “awwww” as Leehan attempted to gather himself, as was to be anticipated. “Don't cry, baby,” she urged, although it's reasonable to assume that at that moment, Gage's laxity about his rules could be excused.
