Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are set to make a return to European football in 2025/26, which will be the clubs first time since 1996 when they lost the UEFA Cup quarter-final to Bayern Munich.
Nottingham Forest surprised everyone last season with their excellent Premier League performances, and at one point they were being mentioned in the title race, that was until they faced Arne Slot’s Liverpool side.
Nuno Espirito Santo has done miracles at Forest since his appointment. Prior to last season, Forest were on the brink of relegation and were deducted 4 points for a breach of financial rules.
After coming close to a return to the Championship in 2023/24, pundits and fans expected Forest to struggle again in 24/25.
Forest proved everybody wrong, they contested for the Premier League’s top four places until the final day of the season where they narrowly lost out.
Subsequently, Forest find themselves in next season’s UEFA Conference League.
Forest’s new heroes, Chris Wood, Morgan Gibbs-White and Anthony Elanga have took the Premier League by storm.
Their pace in attack and their defence’s solid work made Forest one of the best teams to watch during last season’s campaign.
Today (24.06.25), Forest have rejected two bids from Newcastle for their Swedish winger, Anthony Elanga and Nuno is hoping to keep a hold of the former Manchester United man.
It was also rumoured Morgan Gibbs-White would join Manchester City this summer, however the Citizens opted to sign Frenchman Rayan Cherki.
Elanga and Gibbs-White are going to be key assets for Forest next year if they are to emulate their 2024/25 success.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Nuno is now looking to add two players from Juventus’ 2024/25 squad to his already Premier League proven side.
Forest are in talks to sign both Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangala from the Italian giants in a deal worth over £20 million.
Whilst Weah is a player already at the heights of his game, Mbangala is yet to reach his full potential and Forest fans will hope he can reach the heights expected of him at The City Ground.
Both have been at the Club World Cup this summer with Juventus and both have the chance to play Manchester City on Thursday.
Forest fans will be eager to see their potential new men in action, after already seeing new signings Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha in this summer’s tournament.
