Baby Ayla Summer Mucha surprised her parents in December 2021 by welcoming them with a big grin on her small face.
Ayla’s perpetual grin, caused by a rare ailment, first upset her parents, but they fell in love with her. Fans worldwide are raving over the cute kid with the wonderful smile.
Cristina Vercher and Blaize Mucha of Australia were excited to see their newborn daughter on December 30, 2021, after nine months of waiting.
Doctors told the parents something surprising during the C-section.
Baby Ayla Summer Mucha suffered bilateral macrostomia, or improper mouth development.

A uncommon disorder called a facial cleft occurs when the mouth corners don’t fuse during pregnancy.
According to the National Library of Medicine, only 14 examples of the deformity have been described in medical literature.
All-around shock
Her parents were shocked by Ayla’s huge mouth opening after ultrasounds showed no abnormalities.
The new mom, 23, says she and Blaize, 22, “were instantly worried” when they saw Ayla for the first time since her condition was “obvious” because she “was so tiny.”

“Blaize and I were not aware of this condition, nor had I ever met someone born with a macrostomia,” stated Adelaide’s Vercher. “So it came as giant shock.”
Not only the parents were astonished. A newborn with bilateral macrostomia also surprised doctors.
Since it took hours for a doctor to respond, this made it more stressful. This caused extra problems since the hospital had no understanding or assistance for such a unique condition.” She said, “All I could think about as a mother was where I went wrong.”
However, physicians reassured worried parents they could have done nothing differently. Cristina worried that she had erred during her pregnancy or “caused” her daughter’s ailment.
She said: “All I could dwell on as a mother was where I might have made a mistake.” After days of genetic tests and imaging, they were reassured that they had no role in this condition.

The Muchas were able to redirect their focus on assisting Ayla in coping with her condition, which also affects her functionality, such as attachment and nursing.
Consequently, parents are frequently advised to have their children undergo surgery.
Rejoicing family
In an effort to gain a better understanding of the condition, the young couple embarked on a mission to share Ayla’s tale on social media. Her unique grin on TikTok garnered the attention of 6.5 million online users.
The Muchas were astonished by the substantial support they received.
“I have just read on Doctor Google that there are only 14 documented cases.” She is truly exceptional. One user writes, “Be proud, mama.”
A second netizen describes Ayla’s irrepressible smile as “beautiful and just perfect the way she is.” She also caused me to beam.
In the interim, Ayla’s devoted supporters promptly eliminated a small number of pests who were judging the defenseless child.
“Your daughter is eminently beautiful; therefore, refrain from listening to those who harbor animosity.” “She is an angel,” one individual shares. “Oh my God.” How adorable are you! “Ignore all those hurtful comments; your little cuteness is just too sweet,” said another.
Vercher responded to the disparaging remarks regarding her infant, stating, “I would suggest that you be empathetic and tolerant of all individuals.”

“Conditions “such as this” could truly happen to anyone,” she said, adding that people would likely treat you or your offspring with the same respect if such events were to occur in your life. “Social media is a place that is divided.” Regrettably, it is impossible to regulate the dispositions of others.
Vercher reiterates, “We are immensely proud and will continue to share our most cherished memories and experiences due to the encouragement and positive feedback.”
Ayla, who recently celebrated her second birthday, appears to have undergone successful surgery to address her enlarged mouth, despite the fact that it has not been validated. The young girl, who became a big sister to her newborn sibling Sonny in November 2023, has minimal scarring from the procedure.
We are delighted that the Muchas persisted in sharing recordings and photographs of the stunning Ayla, despite the harassment they received online.
