Jacoby Jones, a former NFL receiver, was discovered deceased in his residence on Sunday, July 14. His 108-yard kickoff return in 2013 remains the longest touchdown in Super Bowl history.

He was a member of the Baltimore Ravens, San Diego Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Houston Texans during his NFL tenure, which spanned from 2007 to 2015. He contributed to the Ravens’ most recent Super Bowl victory by making several significant plays.

In the same series, he established a new record with a 108-yard kick return touchdown, the longest in Super Bowl history, which propelled the Ravens to a 34-31 victory over the 49ers, resulting in San Francisco’s first-ever Super Bowl defeat.
Former Texans wide receiver, who was selected in the third round of the 2007 draft, became the first player in Super Bowl history to score a receiving touchdown and a return touchdown.

“The NFL is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Super Bowl champion Jacoby Jones,” the league stated in a social media post. “Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.” The 2012 postseason was the site of his most significant professional accomplishments.

The Ravens defeated the Denver Broncos 38-35 in overtime after Jones caught the “Mile High Miracle,” a 70-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter of the AFC Divisional Round.

Afterward, in Super Bowl XLVII, Jones caught a 56-yard touchdown pass and returned a kickoff 108 yards for a touchdown, which remains the longest play in Super Bowl history. The Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 to secure the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Jones is still the sole athlete to score a receiving touchdown and a kickoff return touchdown in the same Super Bowl.
